About

ABOUT MYSELF & THE BLOG

Hello! My name is Murphy Bouma, and I’m a Visual Arts student living in Australia. I love art, painting, photography, thrifting, drinking loads of tea, having fun with my friends and going to art galleries. I am also very obsessive with old film cameras, pretty skirts, suitcases, british television and hats.

I started Girl holding a paintbrush in August, 2010 and see it as a online visual diary where I blog about what inspires me and my own creative practice. I like to blog about a variety of things, including art, photography, fashion, vintage goods, handmade culture, DIY projects and stories from my own real life adventures. As I dream of being a artist one day, I also support and love to promote work by other young emerging artists living and working within Australia and across the globe.

As an young emerging artist working within the medias of visual arts and photography, I am available for freelance work. I have a wide range of skills including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, etching, illustration and sculpture. I can deliver fresh and one of a kind works to my to clients individual needs and visions.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog and getting to know me a little better. It really means a lot to me when I see people enjoying my blog and loving the things that I share. If you would like to get to know me better or just want to say hello, please feel free to email me or find me at one of the links in my sidebar. I would love to get to know all you amazing people and hopefully one day in person.
